Series 1: Hashem

Welcome to the "Hashem" series of Emes of Torah, where we delve into the logical arguments and evidence for the existence of Hashem. Throughout this series, we will examine proofs from nature, address challenges posed by the theory of evolution, investigate the concept of the "First Cause," and grapple with profound questions such as the purpose of creation and the mystery of evil.

1. Can We Prove Hashem?

In this foundational episode, we establish the parameters for rationally proving the existence of Hashem. We discuss the nature of proof, the role of objectivity, and the limitations of absolute certainty in the realm of faith.

2. Proof From Nature

Discover compelling arguments for the existence of a Creator based on the intricate design and purposefulness observed in the natural world. We explore the concept of intelligent design and refute counter-arguments that attempt to attribute the complexity of life to mere chance.

3. Evolution

In this episode, we tackle the challenge posed by the theory of evolution to the belief in a Creator. We examine the assumptions underlying evolutionary theory, expose its limitations in explaining the origin of life, and demonstrate how it ultimately fails to negate the necessity of a Divine designer.

4-5 The First Cause I & II

Over the course of two episodes, we dive deep into the philosophical argument of the "First Cause." We trace the chain of causality back to its logical conclusion and establish the necessity of an uncaused cause – an eternal, immutable Creator who set the universe in motion.

6. Why Create the World?

Having established the existence of Hashem, we turn to the question of why He chose to create the world. We explore the concepts of Divine will, the purpose of creation, and the unique role of human beings in the cosmic drama.

7. The Mystery of Evil

In this thought-provoking episode, we grapple with one of the most challenging questions in theology – the existence of evil and suffering in a world created by a benevolent God. We examine various approaches to this age-old problem and provide a Torah perspective on navigating life's trials and tribulations.
